Welcome to Makda Safari Adventures. By booking a tour, safari, or any service with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before making a reservation.
1. Booking and Confirmation
• All bookings must be made through our official website, email, or authorized agents.
• A booking is confirmed only after the required deposit or full payment has been received.
• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings if payment is not received in time.
• After confirmation, travelers will receive an itinerary and payment receipt.
2. Payment Policy
• Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit/debit card, mobile money, online payment platforms, or cash.
• Payments in foreign currency should be in USD. Local payments are accepted in UGX.
• All bank or transfer fees are the responsibility of the traveler.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
All cancellation requests must be made in writing and shall be effective on the date of actual receipt by Makda Safari Adventures.
Cancellation by Traveler:
25% non refundable charge
60-30 days before departure: 30% charge
31-8 days before departure: 50% charge.
Less than 5 days: 75% charge.
48 hours prior to arrival: 100% charge
No refunds will be made for any unused services, late arrival or no-show of any of the members of the tour.
Cancellation by Makda Safari Adventures:
In rare cases of safety, weather, or unforeseen events, we may cancel the tour. Full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
Refunds are processed within 14 business days using the original payment method.
4. Itinerary Changes
• Itineraries may be adjusted due to weather, road conditions, or local circumstances.
• Any changes will be communicated to travelers in advance.
• Makda Safari Adventures is not liable for delays caused by external factors such as roadblocks, strikes.
5. Travel Documents and Health Requirements
• Travelers are responsible for obtaining valid passports, visas, permits, and vaccinations required for travel.
• A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for travel in Uganda.
• Any health issues, allergies, or special needs should be communicated before booking.
• Travelers are encouraged to have personal travel insurance covering health, accidents, and trip cancellations.
6. Safety and Conduct
• Travelers must follow all instructions provided by guides, drivers, or safari staff.
• Makda Safari Adventures is not liable for injuries resulting from failure to follow safety guidelines.
• Visitors should respect local customs, wildlife, and cultural sites.
• Alcohol consumption and smoking may be restricted in certain areas.
7. Liability
• Makda Safari Adventures provides transportation, accommodation, and tour guiding in good faith.
• We are not responsible for:
• Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings
• Delays caused by traffic, weather, or external factors
• Illness, accidents, or injuries not caused by our negligence
8. Accommodation and Meals
• Lodging and meals included in your package will be as described in the itinerary.
• Requests for room upgrades or special meals must be communicated in advance and may incur additional charges.
• Travelers are responsible for damages caused to accommodations during their stay.
9. Wildlife and Nature Policies
• Guests must not disturb or feed wildlife.
• Photography is allowed unless restricted for safety or cultural reasons.
• Littering or damaging natural habitats is strictly prohibited.
10. Force Majeure
• Makda Safari Adventures is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including:
• Natural disasters (floods, storms)
• Political unrest
• Road closures
• Epidemics or pandemics
11. Data and Privacy
• Personal information collected for bookings is used only for tour management and will not be shared with third parties.
• By booking, travelers consent to the collection of personal data, including for emergency contact and payment processing.
12. Travel Insurance
• We strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations, personal belongings, and adventure activities.
• Insurance is the responsibility of the traveler and is mandatory for high-risk activities such as trekking or safari excursions.
13. Photography and Media
• Makda Safari Adventures may take photos or videos during trips for promotional purposes.
• Guests who do not wish to appear in media should notify us in writing before departure.
14. Dispute Resolution
• Any disputes arising from bookings or services should first be attempted to be resolved amicably with Makda Safari Adventures.
• Legal jurisdiction for disputes is Uganda, and Ugandan law will apply.
15. Special Notes
• Travelers must be physically fit for safari activities or trekking.
• Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Pets are not allowed on tours unless specifically arranged in advance.
